The 2022 catering season will be one we remember for some time. After two years of restrictions and periods of isolation, it was heartwarming to see friends and families gather again to celebrate important life events. We are grateful to have been asked to cater so many fun and well-appreciated events. Fittingly, our last wedding of 2022 took us full circle and brought us back to Evergreen Acres Farm where we catered their first wedding of the season in June.
Built in 1901, the original barn provided an extremely cozy setting for the wedding ceremony on a crisp fall day. Accented by edison lights and fresh mums, the white washed walls and ceiling gave the old barn a fresh and inviting appearance. Blankets offered extra comfort against any chill or draft that might sneak in. Next door in the newer barn, the same attention was applied to the reception. Decorated with care for the event, both areas looked like they jumped right out of the pages of a magazine.
The team from Shaws Catering was delighted to serve a hearty hip-of-beef with gravy and horseradish as the main on our buffet. The bride and groom also chose a lovely variety of popular sides including homemade mac & cheese, peaches & cream corn, Caesar salad, boarding house macaroni salad and baked potatoes served with a choice of cheddar cheese, bacon, green onions, butter and sour cream. What a treat for their 140 guests.
Later in the evening, our friends from Adovo Pizza helped heat things up outside with wood-fired pizza fresh from their ovens.
For us, this wedding was the perfect end to an incredible catering season. Our congratulations to this lovely couple, thank you for including us in your special day.
