September traditionally signals the end of the boating season for many in the Ontario region, and our friends at Beacon Bay Marina mark the occasion with a big bash for their customers. The year end party provides a chance for boating enthusiasts to come together, to tell tales from the “sea”, and to enjoy some fun, some music and a delicious bbq meal.
Beacon Bay Marina is located in the south-east corner of Georgian Bay, just one kilometre outside of Penetanguishene. This part of Ontario is rich in both natural beauty and history. The marina gives boaters access to almost endless water travel on Georgian Bay, Lake Huron and their historic waterways. Waterways that were used extensively by the Huron-Wendat people over 350 years ago as they travelled the region to hunt and trade. Beyond the rich history of the region, boaters enjoy the incredible natural beauty of the area with access to 13 provincial parks and 1 national Park on Georgian Bay alone.
The team at Shaws Catering was delighted to be a part of the year end party at Beacon Bay Marina. We set up early and took the time to slow roast, so guests could enjoy enjoy mouth-watering roast pork on a bun with our famous Shaws maple barbeque sauce. Fresh pasta salad and coleslaw completed the buffet. Guests were also treated to the music of Gibbons & Figgs, a popular local duo. Our whole team had a great time!
