Since 1991, the Vander Zaag family has been supplying equipment and parts to the farming community. Originally running in conjunction with their potato farm, HJV Equipment established itself as an independent entity in 2009 and the company now has six locations in Canada and the US and employs over 100 full time staff.
This month, HJV Equipment invited all the staff and their families to the company picnic. Held on a potato farm near Shelburne, the event had all the hallmark features of a great company picnic: bouncy castles, egg relays, dunk tank, musical chairs and a performance from a one-man band. The team from Shaws Catering was delighted to be asked to provide a fully catered bbq buffet featuring a delicious slow roasted pig.
A great time was had by all, including our team. The sun was out in force and the well-tended perennial gardens on the farm certainly created a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. While the wind kicked up a fair bit, the team from HJV was more than prepared with a walled tent that kept everyone comfortable.
