Ontario Potato Field Day

According to Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Canadians eat about 60 kg of potatoes, per capita, a year. Potatoes are by far the most consumed vegetable in Canada and potato production is an important industry for Ontario.

This week, over 300 potato producers came together at HJV Equipment in Alliston for the Ontario Potato Field Day. Hosted by the Ontario Potato Board, the day created an opportunity to discuss the latest in potato production and to showcase new equipment. It was incredible.

Shaws Catering was delighted to be asked to cater the bbq buffet lunch of roast pigs and delicious sides. It was another fantastic summer day and we were thrilled to see so many families enjoying the event.  HJV Equipment created a beautiful and inviting reception area within their facility. Using chips as the table centrepiece was a very fun idea.

We really enjoy these kinds of events. They highlight the importance of agriculture and remind us of our farming heritage. Thanks very much for including us!
