Sometimes everything just comes together to make an event a HUGE success, like Maple Weekend 2022. This past weekend, maple syrup operators across Simcoe County, including Shaws, participated in the event designed to promote Ontario maple syrup. Two days of warm, sunny weather helped to make the weekend a winner. The weather also helped generate the largest volume of fresh maple sap we’ve seen yet this year.
Promoting Ontario Maple Syrup
Organized and promoted by the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association, Maple Weekend 2022 aims to give people across Simcoe County a “traditional maple syrup experience”. The weekend also highlights maple syrups historical significance and natural simplicity. To do this, the weekend focusses on fun, maple-themed events like pancake breakfasts, trail walks, taffy on the snow and syrup making demonstrations. Shaws Maple Syrup is a proud supporter of the event and the role it plays in highlighting the industry and the high quality of Ontario maple syrup.

For us at Shaws Maple Syrup, Maple Weekend 2022 was another great way to welcome guests back to the sugar bush. It was great to see visitors of all ages enjoying the sunshine and many spent time hiking through the marked trail, and riding in the horse-drawn wagon. Of course, everyone also enjoyed pancakes, french toast and sausages at the Pancake House. Maple season at its very best.
Shaws is open every day from 8 am – 4 pm until April 18, 2022. We are serving pancakes, french toast, sausages, maple baked beans and lots of other maple delights in the Pancake House. Click here to see our menu.
Come visit us – take a walk in the sugar bush and then sit by the fire and enjoy what nature has to offer.
