We are big fans of Quayle’s Brewery. We love the open space, the connection to nature, the creative nature of the brewery, and most definitely the people. And yes, the beer is very good. After a number of successful catered events at the brewery like Christmas in June and a wedding in the Hop Yard, we get pretty excited about events at Quayle’s. So our whole team was really looking forward to this July wedding at Quayle’s Brewery.
Out of our entire Shaws Catering team, the one person who was looking forward to catering this wedding the most might have been Ian. Ian has studied the art of wings and beer since the day he turned 18. When he learned that the bride and groom wanted chicken wings for an appetizer AND he could bbq them in a field of hops…he was over-the-moon excited. He REALLY delivered! Ian prepared a delicious array of appetizers including his incredible many flavoured grilled chicken wings, smoked salmon, fruit, and cheese and crackers.
The weather has been intense this summer. We’ve had extremely hot days followed with days of record breaking rainfall, but Quayle’s is ready for anything. The high roof of the reception tent facilitated air flow and set the mood with classic outdoor lighting. We were delighted to see blue skies for the wedding, adding to the ambiance of a carefree event. Ainsley set a gorgeous country table with a sprig of lavender at each place over a muslin runner, enhancing the welcoming feel of the reception tent.
Tom grilled a side of beef to perfection and he carved it fresh at the buffet for guests. The buffet also included grilled chicken and an assortment of side salads that seemed to more than please this happy crowd.
After dinner, DJ Tyler Handy, also known as “The Handy DJ” took over and got the crowd up on the dance floor. Based in Washago, Tyler is often found at events in the Orillia and Barrie area.
